Steps and explanations

01Open material beside the conversation

Open the file panel and select the brief. On a wide desktop chat, split view keeps it beside the conversation; narrower layouts may show the file separately.

Try it · Open brief.md and select 分屏 on a wide screen; locate 对话全屏 and 文件全屏.

02Read the preview and edit the source

Markdown opens as a formatted preview. Switch to Source to edit the text. Change the closing time from five to six, leaving the change unsaved for now.

Try it · Select 源码, change 17:00 to 18:00, and observe that Save becomes available.

03Save explicitly and check the result

Select Save file or use the save shortcut, then check the saved status. Edits made during saving still need another save. Closing a dirty tab asks for confirmation.

Try it · Select 保存文件, wait for 已保存, then return to 预览 and check 18:00.

04Give the agent a precise edit request

For a larger revision, reference the file in DeepAgents and state what to change and preserve. Check the write region and avoid simultaneous manual edits.

Try it · Save and stop manual editing; reference brief.md and request a checklist while preserving the reception hours.

05Read the diff before deciding

When approval appears, red shows removals and green additions. Check the path and diff before approving or rejecting. A pending proposal is not a completed edit.

Try it · Review the proposed paragraph-to-checklist diff, verify the hours are unchanged, and select Approve.

06Verify completion in the file

Wait for a successful tool result, then open the target file. With CLI, check the archived output path. The agent saying “edited” is not sufficient verification.

Try it · Reopen brief.md after the illustrated DeepAgents success; contrast it with CLI output under generated/runtime.

07Practice both editing methods

Practice one small manual save and one Agent-assisted paragraph revision. For each, verify the saved state and target file so the update has a checkable result.

Try it · Make a small manual edit and request an Agent revision in the teaching file, then inspect the original.

What you will learn

Save small changes directly or request a precise Agent edit, then verify both status and file content.

Before you start

  • Prepare /docs/academy/brief.md and an available DeepAgents model for shared-document editing.
  • YOLO is off for the approval example. All materials are fictional.
