Open Subagents and inspect the built-in research and memory assistants. Save reusable specialist roles so the main Agent can delegate work when needed. Select New. Give the specialist a clear name and describe when to delegate. Start with source checking, rather than assigning every possible job. Use the System Prompt to define inputs and deliverables. Ask for sources, discrepancies, and unknowns so the main Agent can act on the findings. Choose the tools needed for verification, then create the subagent. A listed tool still needs working configuration, so test it with a small task. In a DeepAgents chat, delegate a specific check and ask for findings only. The main Agent remains responsible for the final response. Expand the subagent record and inspect the result. If sources are missing or the task failed, narrow the question, add inputs, and retry. Practice disabling and re-enabling the specialist. Answer simple questions directly; delegate work that is independent, substantial, and easy to hand back.
